This is our cat J.J. — my wife’s favorite cat of all time. He’s unusually affectionate (for a cat) and the two are fairly inseparable. I made a caricature birthday card for her last year featuring J.J. you can see here.
A busker in front of the movie theaters in Burbank, 10:pm on a Friday night. Jack and I sketched him together before going in and seeing “The Dark Knight Rises”. Jack said he was playing sad songs about breaking up with a girl. He played almost entirely with his eyes closed. I gave him two dollars. He had quite a few in his tip box already.

This was from earlier this afternoon. Â I started a new sketchbook! Â So there’s new enthusiasm that goes along with it.
My daughter and son both graduated on the same day last week, from middle school and high school respectively. Â As we sat in the heat of the field along with hundreds of other parents, I sketched the man in front of me, who had a great face:

Everything went off well. Â It’s a new era for both of them!
He was making interesting noises – loud, hollow clicking noises.
