Happy Easter

I’ve slacked off a little on my sketching and blogging lately because work’s been so crazy – 16 and 20-hour days, etc. I love my work, I’m not complaining; but I have been looking forward to a moment to collect myself and sketch something unrelated to the current job. We had a few days off this weekend for the holiday, so I did some sketching, which I look forward to posting up here in the near future.

Fence, bamboo, distant trees

This weekend was beautiful here. I had to work on Sunday, but on Saturday the kids kept trying to play practical jokes on me (“April fools!”). The weather was perfect, too.

Crazy eights

Seems to me that the winner should get the M&M;, but what do I know? While I was drawing this, Jack (12) drew me drawing it (click to enlarge):

He got some great detail in there. Note the pictures of relatives on the wall behind me and the coo-coo clock in the hallway. I don’t know why he didn’t draw his sister, the card player.

Going home

At lunch today nine of us got together to see a good friend and co-worker off, back to his home in another state. It’s a close-knit group, and paths will cross again and again…

Blustery Day

From a few days ago – the snow level got down to 1000 ft! That’s dusting the hills just east of our home. For Southern California that’s weird. Fun, but weird.

Weekend in the snow

The kids had never played in the snow before, believe it or not. So we drove with some good friends and their kids to Idyllwild and stayed in a beautiful cabin. Some quick sketches of classic snow action resulted: sled riding and snowball fighting, primarily.
