On the roof


This is one of those mysterious things coming out of most of our homes. It’s a 1930s-era electrical power terminal, I’m pretty sure, seeing as the wires go to the telephone poles in the backyard. It’s one of those things you see all the time but never really look at, if you know what I mean.

Blustery Day


From a few days ago – the snow level got down to 1000 ft! That’s dusting the hills just east of our home. For Southern California that’s weird. Fun, but weird.

Weekend in the snow

The kids had never played in the snow before, believe it or not. So we drove with some good friends and their kids to Idyllwild and stayed in a beautiful cabin. Some quick sketches of classic snow action resulted: sled riding and snowball fighting, primarily.

First thing this morning I was treated to a complete reading of Frog and Toad All Year.

The Narrator’s favorite plush toy companions sat quietly and listened to the story with me. Here’s to a wonderful new year!

Christmas is over and New Year’s Day is around the corner. Here’s hoping everyone is having a wonderful holiday, and here’s hoping for a prosperous and creative 2006!
